Dental CBCT justification and image interpretation
This 1-day course provides the LEVEL 2 training program as detailed in the current FGDP/PHE guidelines (published October 2020)
This program provides training for dentists on the justification, interpretation and reporting of CBCT scans in the dento-alveolar region.

DURATION (CPD HOURS):
6 hours
SUITABLE FOR:
Dentists who justify (prescribe) and interpret (use and/or report on) CBCT scans.
This course is not suitable for dental nurses.
TECNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Windows PC. Please note that the CBCT viewing software does not run on an Apple Mac, on Chrome OS or on mobile devices
- A good Broadband connection
- Webcam and microphone
All attendees must be dentists who have have attended a 5 hour IRMER course within the last 5 years and have completed Level 1 (Core) training in Dental CBCT with the Cambridge Academy witin the last 12 months.
We are not able to accept registration for Level 2 if Level 1 was taken with another provider.
CONTENT:
- The development of dental CBCT imaging knowledge, enabling appropriate
justification, accurate dose and image optimisation and quality control
- Understanding of the regulatory requirements if offering a CBCT imaging
and/or reporting service
- Reporting of normal anatomy, normal variants, dento-alveolar pathology and
abnormalities, and pre-surgical planning as seen on dental CBCT images
